Light curves
Phase curve, 24-hour curve and rotation light curve.
The dock at the bottom of the screen holds the curves. They are computed in a background worker with its own WebGL context, so the 3D view stays fluid while they refresh.
| Curve | x axis | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Phase curve | Signed phase, −180° to +180° | Exo-atmospheric magnitude in the current phase plane; in orbit mode, the phases met along the trajectory over ±12 h |
| Over 24 hours | UTC time, ±12 h | Observed magnitude along the night, with daylight hatched and the Earth’s shadow |
| Rotation | Time, 3 periods | Light curve of the spinning object at the current date, with amplitude, minimum and maximum |
| Measurement | UTC time | Measured and simulated magnitudes (see Measurements) |
When the object rotates
Section titled “When the object rotates”The phase and 24-hour curves no longer freeze the orientation: each point is the mean flux over one rotation (8 orientations, 6 in orbit mode), and a min–max band shows the amplitude of the rotation there.
- Click a point to move the simulation to it.
- Pin freezes the curve as a dashed reference, to compare two configurations.
- Export writes the curve as CSV; TDM writes the observable points of the 24-hour curve, or the measured instants, as a CCSDS Tracking Data Message.
