DISCOS export

CSV export of ESA DISCOS metadata, used to build DISCOS shapes.

LightCurve reads a CSV export of DISCOS metadata with at least a shape column. Recognised columns (case-insensitive):

Column Used for
name, COSPAR, NORAD, discosId, objectClass, Mass Search and display
shape The shape label (objects without one are skipped)
width, height, depth, diameter, span Dimensions, m
xSectMax, xSectMin, xSectAvg Cross-sections, m²
"COSPAR","NORAD","discosId","name","objectClass","Mass","shape","width","height","depth","diameter","span","xSectMax","xSectMin","xSectAvg"
"1957-001B","2","2","Sputnik 1","Payload","82.85","Sphere","","","","0.58","0.58","0.264","0.264","0.264"

A label that is not one of the 20 modelled shapes is mapped to the closest one from its words (box, cylinder, sphere, cone, number of arrays, antenna, nozzle). The source line of the model then says “shape … approximated”.

After loading, search by NORAD number (exact), COSPAR id (exact) or part of the name. Up to 12 results are listed; a click fills the shape and the dimensions.
